Out of the Hidden Land

A geology graduate student, wandering in a remote forest in mountainous northern New England doing field work, comes upon an old house on a long-abandoned farm. Out from the house steps a strange and beautiful young woman, who is in reality an ancient witch displaced from her time and place in a medieval world under the sea. Before he knows it, the student is ensnared in a wild scenario he barely understands, of demons, monsters from the other world, domestic gangsters and a mad scientist, all led by a mysterious criminal billionaire who plots to enslave the earth. The witch, with his assistance, gathers an unlikely crew of misfits (plus a monster) as allies in a struggle to save humanity. Their underpowered group faces a series of lethal threats in a cloud of unearthly darkness. The student's greatest challenge, in the end, is to discover who he really is. And, of course, to learn the reality behind the enchanting beauty who got him into the quandary in the first place.
