Strength From Above: The Chronicles of my Pain into Power

Strength from Above is a poetry collection containing thirty-eight poems. Each poem in this collection contains a different type of story and personal inspiration. There are stories of loss, hardship, family issues, childhood memories, and the stories of hope that help bring us through these issues.

Written from a Christian perspective of life, the genre of these poems is mainly faith-based. The very first poem in this collection, "Papaw," tells the story of what it is like to lose someone you love. Many times, throughout our lives, we suffer a loss that makes us look back and reflect. Sometimes we regret not taking enough pictures or making enough memories. This is exactly the story that this poem tells.

This collection doesn't just capture the hard moments, however. There are many poems that tell the tales of happiness and hope. "Laughing Tree" is a silly, feel-good poem about just that...a laughing tree. It helps bring some positivity in the midst of some heavy topics, a story that all of us can enjoy, especially the child buried deep inside us.

The very last poem, "My God Is Bigger," helps to wrap the poetry collection all together with a story of strength. No matter what we go through, no matter the trials we face, God is big enough to bring us through. Essentially, we can find our strength from above.
