In this dark and slightly disturbing story inspired by the nursery rhyme, "There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe," Old Woman runs her establishment as a somewhat benevolent dictator, warm and welcoming but expecting idealistic worship from her wards. Willa and Jack, two teenagers living in the Shoe, are content and happy with their lives until the two teens stumble upon some of the dark secrets - and horrors - of the Shoe. Their seemingly perfect life serving Old Woman begins to unravel, and Willa and Jack must find the truth before time runs out.

The Shoe takes place in a parallel universe of fantasy and intrigue. It is the first installment of The Shoe Trilogy where we follow Jack and Willa through grisly discoveries, ultimately facing their most dangerous threat.
