She doesn't know why she was brought to Oz, or why she is singled out for torment, but she must return to Oz and face the dangers she fled once again.

Emily is brash and bold, as well as thoughtful and caring. Right from the start, she demonstrates that she is not willing to be tossed about like a house in a cyclone, but will push back and fight to make things better. She is forced to make decisions that no one should have to make, let alone someone her age.
