Favored with a brilliant mind, Pl?cido falls victim to an uncontrollable inner voice.
Obsessive Compulsion opens days before Pl?cido's birth, his parents having escaped from a Tijuana prison. It becomes evident at a very young age that the boy is exceptionally gifted but unfortunate to be born into a dysfunctional family. When he is three and a half, Miss Amanda Brown, with Child Protective Services of California, enters into Pl?cido's life and ultimately assumes the role of friend and mentor. It is she and his paternal grandfather, Dr. Fernando Barrera, who become his guide and compass along a treacherous road. Graduating valedictorian from high school at age thirteen puts Pl?cido on a roller coaster ride in educational adventures that ultimately leads to a bridge to nowhere. Pl?cido's arduous journey takes him from San Diego to New York City and back to California via Lackland Air Force Base. Pl?cido and his encounters will make you both laugh and cry as he confronts a world often shattered by the impact of an obsessive compulsion.
