Long-time poet, now first-time author,
Corey Leigh, asserts rather boldly, "The true measure of a king is less in appraisals of his possessions; rather, in volume of his praises, bestowed appreciatively upon his queen; in how richly, of his own accord, he acknowledges and esteems immense value she brings, enriching his life in all facets, encompassing everything."
This sentimentality is the driving force behind Corey's debut masterpiece! His belief that far too often men fail to recognize, and inadequately express proper reverence for their woman's worth, resonates resoundingly as it underscores, shapes, and frames his poetry. Corey himself admits to taking former loves for granted, leaving some feeling unwanted, undervalued, and unappreciated. Aware of his own problematic behavior, his poetry addresses prior communicative shortcomings.
Paying tribute to all women, while aiming to serve as a collective voice for all men, Corey's emotional vulnerability, poetic prowess, and sensuous writing style are on full display. He achieves his goals by sharing creative expressions of intimacy, while keenly poeticizing various related themes, common in meaningful romantic relationships. Elements include:
Love, Sex, Passion, Lust, Companionship, Commitment, Trust, Heartbreak, Appreciation, Friendship, Forgiveness, and
Support. Guaranteed to stimulate the senses, entice the mind, and to arouse imagination while igniting deep emotion, aptly, from start to finish, an enjoyable read awaits.
For every woman infrequently told she means so much - worthy and deserving, yet, lacking proper outpourings of praise -
