Are the ghosts in her house or in her mind?

Ketron Gouge is puzzled when she feels like one of her children is missing. A quick check calms her panicked mind, but the uncomfortable thought continues to concern her.

Ketron and her husband, Marvin, bought a home they hoped would be perfect for their growing family. Soon, however, Marvin develops a drinking problem and Ketron becomes more anxious about the mysterious shadows and disembodied crying in the house. Most of her five children seem to be conscious of the uncanny events, giving credence to Ketron's worries, but her best friend and therapist think it may be a product of her overstressed mind.

Ghosts from her past and memories of her childhood tumble to the surface, reminding her of her mentally unstable mother, and she begins to wonder if there's truth to the nagging idea that someone is missing. And when she begins seeing things in her house, she thinks it may be time to accept an inescapable truth.
