When Winter Comes

An escaped slave becomes an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Colored Troop of the Union Army during the Civil War. Late 19th century post-Civil War and free, Jason Brown sets out to search for family and explore opportunities. With the help of many, prior pursuits of work and freedom while traveling WEST he encounters unimagined bonds in adversity. He fights to take back his freedom with an unlikely Lakota Chieftain, and their enemy and warfare has a cause and sacrifices.
