Emily Evans knows better than to date a guy like Lucas Edwards. He's cocky, arrogant, and way too good-looking for words. He's completely indecisive, a player, and can't even keep his houseplants alive. So, she very clearly puts him in the friend zone where he belongs.

And their friendship comes on strong. She loves nothing more than hanging out with Lucas, bickering over what show to watch or where to eat, and daydreaming where their next un-date will be. She's never had such an amazing friendship before and can't imagine not having him in her life.

Except for that tiny problem of putting him in the friend zone, things are going great.
