Would you take the chance to love again after being betrayed?

As an avid science-fiction-romance reader, Althea had a secret dream of finding true love with a hunky alien. When she caught an unexpected chance to do just that, she didn't hesitate. She left Earth and everything familiar behind. But what should've been a fairytale ends up a nightmare when she's betrayed and given to merciless space pirates.

Lok ended up an outcast from the planet Zerin, when his evil twin held him captive and in isolation for five decades. With his brother now dead, he struggles with conflicting emotions. He mourns the loss of his childhood sibling, but is relieved when the man who caused him so much suffering is finally gone. And, freedom brings with it a heavy price. To evade the bounty on his head for the countless crimes committed by his sibling, Lok must stay hidden from the entire galaxy.

Everything changes when he hears her sing in an alien pub for the first time.

Captivated by the alluring human, Lok is determined to meet the female he knows in his heart is his TrueBond. Before they connect face-to-face, space pirates take over the pub.

The gangsters claim they're pursuing a lost comrade and demand the slave he carried be handed over, or everyone in the pub faces execution.

Lok suspects the person they're looking for is Althea.

As Lok and Althea are thrust together in a life-and-death situation, they're forced to navigate through a treacherous path while overcoming their own inner demons in order to survive. Against all odds, can they learn to trust and rely on one another? Or will they succumb to their own complicated pasts and fall prey to the ruthless pirates?
