The storyteller was glowing with a soft, golden light. Joia could easily see that, but no one else could see the golden light. Only her.
Edmund the Entertainer could see the golden glow around this young woman. No one except the Patrons to the Trade Guilds had the Light of the Guild, so who was this girl and why did she have the Light?
Joia expected to live the simple village life. She would marry her intended, Hakon the Thatcher, and they would make a life together in Erthenhorn. But everything changed with the arrival of the entertainers. The glowing storyteller was back, and Joia is determined to find out who exactly he is and why he glows. Edmund is equally curious to find out who this young woman is and why she glows with the same light.
With Hakon by her side, and Edmund as her guide, Joia sets out to learn more about the Trade Patrons, the Light of the Guild, and why she has this light about her when she is not a Patron. At the same time, the king's trade minister was working to pull the trades apart. Joia starts to wonder if this is her providence. The only trouble is, she has no idea what she is going to do about it.
