Interprofessional Perspectives for Community Practice : Promoting Health, Well-Being, and Quality of Life

This book was designed with the intention to shift the paradigm from medical models of care and rehabilitation after disease, illness, or disability to prevention and health promotion for individuals, communities, and organizations. We are not minimizing the need for medical and rehabilitation interventions, but rather shifting the emphasis. In several chapters of this book, there are strategies for integrating principles of health promotion and wellness into rehabilitation as well as during medical intervention.
