5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

5:2 En Hij opende Zijn mond, en leerde hen, zeggende:

5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of

heaven.

5:3 Zalig de armen van geest, want hunner is het Koninkrijk

der hemelen.

5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5:4 Zalig zijn zij die treuren, want zij zullen vertroost worden.

5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

5:5 Zalig zijn de zachtmoedigen, want zij zullen de aarde

5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after

righteousness: for they shall be filled.

5:6 Zalig zijn zij, die hongeren en dorsten naar de

gerechtigheid, want zij zullen verzadigd worden.
