It details the journey into the world of academia of a village boy who became fatherless at the age of 5. Biyi Afonja is now a retired Professor of Statistics. He was the first and only Nigerian to be elected an honorary Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and has held posts in the UN and was Pro-Chancellor at Ogun State University, Nigeria.
