An elderly couple in the time of the virus: A case of social isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic

When Covid19 attacked humanity, Leilah and Washington, octogenarians, had to retire to social isolation. In this unprecedented condition, experienced all over the world, the Brazilian couple, residing in Rio de Janeiro, survived the most serious phase of the pandemic. The book records the day to day of the two from March 2020 to March 2022, the difficulties that arose and their way of facing them, their activities, and their personal control so they would not let themselves down. In the most tough times, they evaluated that strange, even bizarre situation, which they were living, feeling unhappy for being deprived of good things in life, like seeing their children and grandchildren, being with friends, and walking freely in the "Wonderful City". They wondered: "How much longer will Covid-19 keep us trapped?".
The author's expectation is that the facts narrated here will be of interest to our posterity and that, for survivors of the pandemic around the world, they serve as a reminder of our unusual struggle in this dark time. So that we do not forget.
