This book focuses on financially-related economic crises, ranging from Tulipmania in the Netherlands to the margin call on Akegos Capital in 2021.
The first volume provides an overview of economic crises and the basic concepts behind them, from their origins and causes to their progress, outcomes, and impacts.
Although it includes explanations of specialized theories such as monetary and financial theory, it focuses on specific cases of economic crises, and since the same causes often lead to repeated economic crises, it is explained in a way that can be understood by looking at examples of crises.
In the next two to four volumes, I plan to summarize full-scale economic crises and financial fraud cases, focusing on Ponzi schemes. In addition to the three major European bubbles of the Netherlands, France, and the UK, the book covers the Great Depression, the UK's IMF bailout, Soros' attack on the British pound, German reunification and inflation, the launch of the euro and Germany's growth, the bursting of the Japanese bubble, financial crises in the US, and South Korea's IMF bailout, The bankruptcy of Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, the global financial crisis, the Greek fiscal crisis, the Guinness Book of World Records for losing $20 billion in two days, and the Akegos Capital margin call that cost Credit Suisse $5.5 billion.
