Democracy is the most complex and polysemantic type of political regime in the forms of implementation. Debates have not ceased about the meaning of the term "democracy" for seven centuries, since 1260, when the word was first used in the translation of Aristotelian "Politics". Classical democracy in Ancient Greece was an example of direct polis management though, as you can read in the book, this form of government was not primitive, and it formulized many new questions to govern more complex societies. There are basic laws of democracy, history of evolution of democratic system, and the first problems of such kind of government, which were appeared in Ancient Greece.
