This book will give you an overview of the initial concept of imaginationnist hypnosis through the work of one of the main instigators of this psychological and philosophical movement, Baron ?tienne F?lix d'H?nin de Cuvillers (1755-1841). In a first section, this theoretical and practical reflection proposes to reinstall the history of hypnosis in order to reinject the imaginationnist movement. In a second part, the author tries to extract the essence of the main techniques of hypnosis described and used by H?nin de Cuvillers. The book follows to a large extent the chronological work and the order internal to the literary corpus of H?nin de Cuvillers, and should therefore be considered as an instrument of exploration rather than a comprehensive and complete theoretical presentation. Rigour will be found in the veracity of the facts reported. This work aims to make better known a long-overlooked work, often recovered or looted, as a result of unfortunate circumstances and also, by repression of its revolutionary character, at the time of the restoration of monarchism and religious faith in France. The ambition of this book is limited to covering the birth of hypnosis from the "imaginationnist" movement. We can make the following observation: The whole history of hypnosis has developed in alignment, in close continuity, starting from the imaginative foundations. The virtue of Cuvillers's concepts of hypnosis in H?nin lies in the fact that they refocus us on their central component, namely, imagination, not placebo.
