College band director
Jill O'Neill is looking forward to many things in the Spring Semester. After nearly being killed by a vampire and becoming one herself the previous semester, Jill is looking forward to receiving a band work composed by internationally known composer
Jonathan Dallas at TMEA the state music convention, the university is getting a new chapter of the national band sorority, and her friend and fellow professor, 19th-century composer and
friendly vampire
Johannes Brahms, is premiering his Fifth Symphony at TMEA.
Things get off to a rocky start as a music store repairman is murdered while Jill, Dallas, and mutual frenemy
John Hammond are all present at the music store. Hammond's daughter
Evelyn was supposed to be having a private oboe lesson at the store but texts she is at home with a headache. Jill's husband and detective
Jack O'Neill and his partner
Remy Hebert are called in to investigate.
Information regarding the murder leads Jack and Remy to attend TMEA along with Jill, Brahms, and several of Jill's music students. It's a crazy TMEA as cheating, a drug overdose, theft, a cryptic file placed on Jill's laptop, and finally a murder occurs, forcing Jack and Remy to team up with unfortunately named Army Reserve antagonist
Steven Ba?os to solve both murders.
Meanwhile, Jill, Brahms, and her students are getting involved in the investigations. Cracking the coded file causes an attempted murder and a high-flying adventure with enough surprises to go around for everyone.
