Sword of Destiny: Most believe the Singing Sword of Zem to be a myth, but Diama believes otherwise. Embarking on a quest to find it, she takes Micel, the love of her life, and Nithan, the egocentric wizard, along with her. But they're not the only ones after the sword. She reluctantly teams up with him and together they encounter a powerful witch who unleashes sinister and deadly forces against them, doing her utmost to ensure they never reach their goal. Her interference culminates in a battle to the death with Nithan. However, it isn't the end of their troubles. They face a final confrontation with an impossible foe in order to finish their odyssey. Along the way, there's a surprising revelation from Micel and an even more surprising ending to the quest when Micel take matters into to her own hands to decide the disputed ownership of the sword once and for all.

Known Strangers: Diama, Micel and Nithan set out on their quest to discover the whereabouts of Nithan's missing wife, Catherine, who disappeared from her home some months previously. On their way, they unwittingly stumble across a lynch mob and they rescue an extraordinary individual who has an incredible story to tell - a story so unbelievable that they're convinced he's crazy. Is he merely delusional or is he actually telling the truth? None of the three companions can decide. Leaving this question unanswered, Diama hatches a plan to rescue Nithan's wife from a brothel where she's being held captive, but the plan doesn't quite go to plan because they soon find a vengeful group of desperadoes on their trail. The final battle on a cliff top is dramatic, with Diama fated to experience the worst of all possible tragedies.
