The Missing Mayor: Diama and Micel have the shock of their lives when members of the Town Council arrive on the doorstep and beg Diama to be the new Mayor. But where's the previous Mayor and what happened to the Town Treasury? There's skullduggery afoot and it's up to Mayor Diama to untangle the threads that solve the late Mayor's disappearance. One suspect is a feisty 'lady of the night', known to have been more than friendly to the missing Mayor. A second suspect is a money-hungry weapons dealer who will undertake any steps he believes necessary to recover his goods. Throw into this mix the presence of the irrepressible and boastful Stan Gulley, an ex-pirate presently living with Diama and Micel, and the office of Mayor may never be the same.

Jigsaw: Diama seems to be adjusting to her role as Mayor quite nicely, but then a major problem arises. Several children have been reported missing, and no trace of them can be found. Diama and Micel investigate and discover the Chief Constable to be a drunken incompetent who doesn't have the slightest inclination of finding the children. What to do? Diama's idea to solve this impasse astonishes Micel who initially believes her darling's idea may possibly be worse than the original problem. But at last the solution to the mystery of the missing children begins to finally appear, thanks to Desire, the world-wise courtesan who has caught Stan Gulley's eye. They decide on a daring rescue plan but the plan is dangerous in the extreme because it involves penetrating the heavily guarded camp of the kidnapper. However, what other choice is there? To leave the children where they are is to condemn them to a hideous fate. And that's all. While in the camp, Diama and Micel encounter a pervious obstacle which may very well cost them their lives.
