"I've been cooking for over fifty years. Occasionally, I look back at old photographs, and the happiest ones are with friends and family, all around a table, with smiling faces and a plate in front of them. Cooking, at least in my home, is just one of the many expressions of love. Sunday lunch is a ritual that still holds strong in this hectic era where values and references may change too quickly. With this cookbook, I would like to suggest how to prepare some of the most representative dishes of my city, without claiming to certify the original recipe. I apologize in advance if anyone should take offense or feel that tradition is disparaged. I only wish to share with you my experience and everything that cooking has meant and continues to mean for me and my family."
